Shine is a personal development program with an inspirational, practical and experiential approach to learning designed by Hillsong.

AIM

For each woman to develop understanding of her own personal worth, strength and purpose and realise the potential within her to fulfil her desires.

FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS

Worth 

I have Worth! ‘Body and soul, I am marvellously made’

The focus for these sessions is for each participant to understand for themselves that they are valuable. Their uniqueness is something to celebrate and they have been wonderfully made.

Strength

I have Strength! ‘Choose life’

These sessions explore the power of choice and the power that decisions have on shaping a person’s future. This is addressed through practical sessions about feelings, willpower, convictions, boundaries and respect.

Purpose

I have Purpose! ‘I have a hope and a future’

Purpose is examined through exploring hopes, dreams and desires. Goal setting, discussions on potential and talents and practical activities are used to equip and build confidence to live out a purpose filled adventurous life.

Could you use a little help with the great questions of life?

• What is the point of life?
• What happens when we die?
• What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?
• How can I make the most of my life?

These and many more of life’s questions are raised and answered in ALPHA.

Alpha is a 10 week course outlining the foundations of the Christian faith.

Start with dessert and coffee, watch a DVD presentation, ask questions, air

objections in a small group—most of all, form new friendships with fellow guests.

Having just completed the 40 Days Of Community Program, it is important to note that this is just as beginning of what God is calling us to do and to be for His glory.

There were many reminders during the 40 Days of what we have already embraced as the kind of Church God has called us to be as we go about  Discovering Jesus, Valuing People, Building Community.  We certainly discovered that we are “better together” as a variety of projects were firstly birthed in the minds of people, followed by the discovery that what would be unthinkable for one person to achieve can be done by a committed group.

Celebration Sunday - Music Team

Our church is committed to the growth and development of LIFE GROUPS and the whole ministry of small groups was given a boost through 40 Days and some of the new groups begun for the campaign are now continuing.  Many people have also discovered the blessing that comes from spending some intentional time each day to consider God’s Word and engage in meaningful prayer.

The Community Projects that were undertaken brought blessings to various groups within our community and were a vehicle to show particular groups,  eg. Emergency Services, local schools, how much they are valued and appreciated.

We were able to conclude the 40 Days with the combining of our usual three Sunday Services in order to have a greater appreciation of all that God has been doing amongst us and through us.

40 Days Of Community has hopefully achieved an even greater resolve that our focus as a church needs to be OUTWARD with a view to serving others in a spirit of generosity and faith.
