Youth at Marion

Youth significantly contribute to the vibrant community of faith at Marion. They’re involved in activities like drama, music, kid
s’ ministries, multimedia and sport and add diversity and colour to the tapestry that is Marion.
The key programs that happen at Marion on a regular basis specifically designed for young people to participate include Sport, Music, Velocityouth, Your Space, Lifegroups, Youth Events and camps.
Your Space
YOUR SPACE is about taking the time and making the place for young people to learn how God and the Bible are relevant to their lives. So between you & God, it’s YOUR SPACE !! We want to give our young people the best teaching, leadership and examples they can get to help them follow Jesus, live out their faith and grow as Christians.

Velocity Youth
For those in year 7 – 12 there’s Velocityouth – every Friday Night of the school term, usually 7.30–9.30 and usually $3. See here for this week’s specific rundown.
The typical Friday night VELOCITYOUTH program includes sport, games, music, video, small group discussions, talks about God, religion and the world, chill-out time, food and drink. We aim to provide a safe place for youth to have fun, socialise, build friendships, develop skills and explore their beliefs and spirituality.
We aim to provide practical support that encourages youth to make positive life choices, live life to the full, reach their goals and make a positive impact in the world.
Shimmer / ShineGirl
Each year as part of our ministry to young people Marion offers the ShineGirl curriculum under it’s South Australian brand ‘Shimmer’. This course operates fortnightly for a small fee ($3) and assist young girls (year 7-9) in developing thier sense of strength, purpose and self worth through a range of interactive, developmental and therapeutic activities. It contains no religious content and is open to all girls enrolled in year 7-9 at school. Shimmer is held in the church lounge 6.30 – 8.00pm fortnightly on Fridays.
Wild Boys
Wild Boys is an action packed, relationship-based program designed to build resilience, self-worth and character in lads enrolled in year 7-9. locations, activities and format vary each week but generally operate from the Youth Centre, 6.30 – 8.00pm fortnightly on Fridays.
